SRI LANKA - The Kumbura Project

Since 2009, Eastwood has been working with Wageesha Kumara to create an Eco Lodge near Sigiriya in Sri Lanka, which opened in November 2011.

Wageesha and his family, who are primarily rice farmers, will now have a self sustainable business that will supplement their income during the dry season when crops become very hard to maintain.

Working mainly with indigenous materials sourced locally and using family and friends to help him build, the Eco Lodge is a testament to crafts and building techniques that have been passed down through generations.

Food served at the Lodge is mainly from local farmers and is cooked by his wife, Dinosita, who is an amazing cook!

For more information on the project and to book a room please visit www.kumbura.com for more details.
